ORGANIZED LAYOFFS PAY OFF

Ownership was headed into bankruptcy due to the real estate crisis. Needed to lay off more than 300 employees over a three-month period just prior to the holidays. Had to negotiate with the union as well as the owner who could not meet financial obligations to the employees. Also needed to negotiate with the state due to the wage and hour violations with little to no resources.

Properly negotiated a settlement with the union and the state. Guided ownership through the WARN process and all post-bankruptcy procedures. Gradually laid off employees in a way that maintained well-being while at the same time allowing the company to operate as long as possible.

Eased the layoff of 300 employees to work through a difficult economic period.
