The organization was experiencing heavy work-related injuries and worker's compensation claims costs within the large Housekeeping Division. This needed to be curtailed. There were no incentives or awareness that this was a problematic situation. There were few financial resources to make the desired impact requested.
Assembled a large-scale communications program that alerted people to accidents. This included a large stoplight that all could see as they entered the building and added basic team incentives to make employees accountable to each other.
Reduced workers compensation claims by 85%, saving $500,000 over the prior year and promoted employee health and wellness. The Housekeeping Division worked in excess of one year without a lost-time accident.
